Malay Wedding

I attended a Malay colleague's wedding at Kuala Nerang, Kedah on 27 Dec 2008. We took 2 hours from Penang to reach the groom's house. 3 of us are the only Chinese attended the wedding.

In a Malay wedding, they will give 'Bunga Telur' for their guest and we got 'Bunga Telur' but also other gifts as well.

This is how the gifts pack looks like, with the wedding couple names printed on the paper bag and with a heart shape "Thank You" tag.

These are the items in the pack ~~ apple, potpourri, bunga telur, fan

The "apple" attached at the 'Bunga Telur' stick looks so real when you compared it with a real apple.

A full view of the gifts pack.

Boxing Day

Today is Dec 26, 2008, Boxing Day!

Also exactly 4 years after the Tsunami that claimed many lives.

We always said that Malaysia is blessed because our country don't have natural disaster as compared to our neighbouring countries. However, since Dec 26, 2004, we realized that Tsunami can happen in Malaysia also!

Natural disaster can happen to anybody, let's take this Tsunami as a painful lesson that tells us:-
1) Stay away from the beach when you sees abnormal sign of the sea conditions
2) Run as fast as you can and never look back when big wave is chasing after you
3) Always keep an alert eye of the sea even the sea looks calm

We can't stop natural disaster from happening, we can only do our best to minimize the damage.
